Noble L. Hanson

Noble Hanson, of North Mankato, died Feb. 5 at age 90. Born in Grantsburg, WI, he moved to Minneapolis as a young man, met and married the girl of his dreams in 1950. He was a machinist, trophy shop manager and engraver, but his passion in work became driving bus for the school district in Torrington, WY. He competed in and won bus rodeos and became a trainer and bus rodeo judge. After moving to Washington state for a number of years, he moved with his wife to North Mankato to be near their two daughters and families. In the past decade, his family and friends became aware of another passion that consumed him – reading and studying the scriptures. He was often at his desk reading and copying passages that were meaningful to him and he would give post-it sized notes to people who asked or who he thought needed encouragement from God. In short, his life was dedicated to God and his family.

He is greatly missed by his wife, Muriel, and his daughters, Cherie (Jim) Levin and Becky (Tim) West. His six grandsons, their wives, and 19 great grandchildren all treasured their grandpa / great-grandpa and mourn his passing. He is survived by his brother, Earl Hanson and sister, Carol Peterson, both of Grantsburg, WI and adored by a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, and his beloved daughter, Bonnie (John) Paasonen.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 am and funeral at 11:00 am on Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Covenant Family Church, 709 N Riverfront Dr., Mankato, MN 56001. Northview-North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
