Frances “Fran” M. Renne, age 89, of North Mankato and formerly of rural Nicollet, died on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Monarch Meadows in North Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Catholic Church of St. Paul in Nicollet with Rev. Todd Petersen officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, rural Nicollet.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the church with a 5:00 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Northview - North Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Frances Marie, the daughter of Frank and Marie (Hiniker) Guentzel, was born on January 24, 1929 in Mankato. Fran married Allen “Dick” Renne on September 6, 1950 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato and he preceded her in death on February 15, 2015. She was previously employed by Mankato Exchange and the Renne family farm. Fran was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Paul in Nicollet and also a member of the church choir. She raised chickens on the farm and enjoyed gardening and camping. She also loved watching the Minnesota Lynx, Timberwolves and Vikings, going out to eat with friends, card club, playing bingo at Monarch Meadows, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by five children, Randy (Janet) Renne of Nicollet, Rhonda (Phil) Kongshaug of Racine, WI, Ron Renne of North Mankato, Roxanne (Terry) Larsen of North Mankato; Rob Renne of North Mankato; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Eileen “Sue” (Jim) Brozik of Mankato; brothers, James Guentzel of Mankato and Henry (Dorothy) Guentzel of Mankato; and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dick; and siblings, Forrest, Robert, George, Shirley (Peter) Braam, and Carol Ann Guentzel Boyer.
