Helen May Jackson

Helen May (Kester) Jackson, age 83, of North Mankato, died on December 27, 2018, at Pathstone Living in Mankato.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2018 with visitation 1 hour before at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 Riverfront Drive, Mankato, MN. Burial will be at Fort Snelling Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.

Helen was born on August 9, 1935 in Silverwood, Indiana to Shirley and Catherine (Thompson) Kester. Helen was married to Harry W. Jackson in October 1957, and he died in 1994.

Helen was the first in her family to attend college and attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL, where she graduated with a degree in Christian Education. She was very active in the churches she attended being involved in teaching Sunday school, playing piano, and being a member of the missionary committee. Helen had her own custom drapery business for many years. Knitting was a favorite pastime and she made many sweaters and afghans. Other hobbies included sewing, reading, and travel. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
