Marian was born on January 15, 1923 to Joseph and Mary (Tacheny) Drummer. She graduated from Loyola High School in 1941. While attending her four years at Loyola High School, Marian worked for her room and board in town and away from the family farm. After high school, she went to work at Hubbard Milling in the main office, and while employed there, she met many of her lifelong friends. She later met Stanley J. Johnson at a school dance and they married on January 11, 1947 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.  They then began their family and had seven children. While raising her family, Marian worked evenings as a nurse’s aide at the Mother Francis Nursing Home and then went on to work at the Warehouse Market until it closed in 1984, which helped her make her decision to officially retire. In 2012, Marian and Stanley celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary, and it was one month later that she lost the love of her life, Stanley, to cancer.

Those who knew Marian will remember that she had her strong convictions which led her through her life.  She believed in prayer and worked very hard in instilling that into her family.  She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  One of her biggest joys of life was to take care of her 17 grandchildren.  Every one of them can share numerous memories they made with their grandma and those stories could be anywhere from attending the horse and dog races to camping in their motor home, going to the Chanhassen Dinner Theater, playing cards at the kitchen table, baking cookies and making jam, being sung to (Grandma loved to sing to the kids), and helping her with her annual garage sales.

Marian is survived by six children, Don Johnson (Jan) from Scottsdale, AZ, Linda Reichert (Doug) from Denver, CO, Carol Wandersee (Jim) from Mankato, Dave Johnson (Donna) from South St. Paul, Mary Cassem (Marty) from Lake Crystal, and Jeff Johnson (Lorna) from Mankato; son-in-law, Roger Funfsinn from Mankato; seventeen grandchildren and twenty three great-grandchildren; sisters, Deloris Rykhus, Geraldine Decker, Betty Quinn (Bob); brother, Harold Drummer (Luanne); sisters-in-law, Dorothy Drummer and Lavonne Drummer; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley in 2012; her daughter, Jane in 2000; her sisters, Hildegard Denn, Olivia Heminover, and Sally Hawker; and her brothers, John and Ray Drummer.
