Evelyn Delores Kopachek

Evelyn Delores Kopachek, age 84, of Mankato, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Ecumen Pathstone Living in Mankato.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato.  Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Madison Lake.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Friday, December 21 at the church.

Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Evelyn Delores, the daughter of Theodore and Lillian (Rose) Nickels, was born on December 12, 1934 in Mankato.  She graduated from Mankato High School. She married Henry Kopachek and they raised two children in rural Eagle Lake. Evelyn was previously employed at Kopachek Bus Service, USPS as a rural mail carrier and for Onan Power Electronics of St. Peter. She enjoyed playing games, especially bingo, cards and dice.  In her younger years, she loved fishing and grouse hunting in northern Minnesota.  Evelyn enjoyed her turtle collection and visiting with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Steven “Butch” (Amy) Kopachek of Pemberton; grandchildren, Mandie Tacheny, Michelle Tacheny, Josh (Melissa) Kopachek, and Adam Kopachek; great grandchildren, Blaire and Wyllow Kopachek; son in law, Paul (Mary) Tacheny; and step daughter in law, Bernie Kopachek; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry; daughter, Diane; step son, Gene; and four siblings.
