Kathryn Louise Cramer, age 98, of Mapleton, died Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the Mapleton Community Home.
Memorial Service 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, 19, 2018 at the United Church of Mapleton. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday at Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home in Mapleton and one hour before service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Beauford. Memorials may be given to the United Church of Mapleton, Beauford United Methodist Church, or the Mapleton Community Home.
Kathryn was born March 6, 1920 to Jacob and Sara (Wiebe) Gosen in Delft, MN. She graduated from Windom High School and Mankato Teacher’s College. Kathryn was united in marriage to James “Hutch” Cramer on June 16, 1949 in Delft. Kathryn taught school at rural schools in Lake Crystal and Beauford, then Worthington, and then Mapleton from 1957 until retiring in 1982. She was active in her church with Sunday school, bible study and choir. She was active in Farm America, the Heather Curling Club, sewing, gardening, and making hardanger. Kathryn’s family was very important to her and she enjoyed time spent with them.
Kathryn is survived by two daughters, Joanne Cramer of Mapleton and Mary Pat Kasell of Savage; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Louise (Leroy) Sawatzky, Darlene Forbrook, and Dorothy Redding; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; husband on April 24, 2015; son-in-law, Jay Kasell; sister, Sarah; seven brothers, Elmer, Abe, Al, Jack, Ray, Rich, and Larry.
