June was born on December 21, 1927 in Faribault, MN. June and her brothers, Daryl and Jack, were committed to the Owatonna State School Orphanage on November 10, 1933. After a “viewing” at the orphanage, June was selected (because of her dimples) by Alfred and Liela Hall. Shortly thereafter, she was adopted by Alfred Franz Hall and Liela Frances (Cords) Hall on May 11, 1936. She lived a good life with her new parents in rural Eagle Lake, attended Wood School #50 (a one room neighborhood school) in Blue Earth County until 8th grade. She then attended St. Clair High School and graduated in 1945.
June met, then married Lloyd Charles Thompson March 28, 1946. June and Lloyd moved to California for a short tour of duty during Lloyd’s service in the U.S. Army. After his discharged from the service, they settled and built a little house just up the field from her parents’ home.
June and Lloyd lived in their home for over 60 years together and were blessed throughout the years with 8 children, four boys and four girls, this resulted in building many additions to their little home. Their children are as follows: David, Daniel, Dianne, Dawn, Darla, Deborah, Doug, and Donley.
During those busy times June was involved in the PTA at St. Clair Public School, The Indian Trail Extension Club, and she was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Smith’s Mill. She served with the Ladies Aid Society at church and was a great support to her children by attending numerous academic and sporting events at the St. Clair school.
When the children were older, June returned to working outside the home, first at a local greenhouse in St. Clair. She then worked many years for Midtex Corporation and then for Carlson Craft as a Home Paster.
June loved “collecting”, sewing and handiwork, reading books and tending her flower garden. She was an avid supporter of local sports and the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. She was a true patriot and had a great love for the United States. The American Flag was flown constantly on June and Lloyd’s little farm in the country.
June is survived by her children and their respective spouses, Dianne June Willaert, Dawn (Dale) Neumann, Darla (Bryan) Vulcan, Debbie (Rick) Behnke, Doug Thompson, & Donley (Pam) Thompson. Her daughter-in-law and faithful angel, Robin Thompson. Her grandchildren, Jen Thompson, Jessica Boweak, Tara Simmons, Eric Willaert, Nicole Vulcan, Amanda June Vidinha, Emily Garcia, Elisha Francis, Joey Behnke, Rachel Hauschild, Elisabeth Thompson and Brook Thompson. Her great-grandchildren, Autumn Willaert, Terrel Simmons, Kristian Boweak, Konan Boweak, Lydia Willaert, Bella June Willaert, Grayson Willaert, Indie Norcutt-Vulcan, Makoa Vidinha, Maile June Vidinha, Kaiana Vidinha, Jovi Garcia, Kenny Garcia, Nicholas Behnke and Zachary Behnke.
June was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lloyd; two sons, David Thompson and Daniel Thompson; her “Rock” son-in-law, David Willaert; her parents, Alfred and Liela Hall; her brothers, Daryl Arbuckle and Jack Hall; her grandparents; and many uncles and aunts, cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
