Warren “Scotty” L. Scott age 89 of Mankato died Monday November 12, 2018 at Oaklawn Health Care Center.
Memorial service 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 19, 2018 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Mankato. Visitation 2 – 5 p.m. Sunday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Burial with military honors at Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato. The Scott family would like to thank the staff of Mayo Health Systems in Mankato, Mayo Hospice and Oaklawn Health and Our Saviors Lutheran Church LWML for the prayer shawl. Memorials preferred to donor’s choice or cancer research.
Warren “Scotty” L. Scott was born August 20, 1929 to Earl L. and Lynda A. (Peters) Scott in Mankato. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1948. Scotty enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1948. He was united in marriage to Betty Jane Wolters on August 20, 1949 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato. They were married for 69 years. Scotty worked at ADM for 41 years retiring in 1991.
Scotty was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, the Teamsters Union, Mankato Eagles Club for 35 years, and American Legion post #311 of Elysian. He enjoyed being a collector, woodworking, diver, and swimmer.
Scotty is survived by his wife, Betty Jane (Wolters) Scott of Mankato; children, Mike (Leesa) Scott of Madelia, Randy Scott of Mankato, Cindy Hoffrogge of North Mankato, Sandra (Mark) Peters of Le Sueur; grandchildren, Jim (Sara) Scott, Jenna Scott, Teresa (Steve) Steinborn, Jared (Kayla Firchau) Scott, Jake (Savannah) Peters, Crystal (Mike Arnoldy) Hoffrogge; great –grandchildren, Brett, Hope, Tristan, Mackenzie, Jessa, Kaydon, Easton, Emmalynn, Talan, Brooklynn, and Brynn. Brother, Richard, (Karon) Scott of Idaho; brothers-in-law, Melvin Krueger of North Mankato and Chuck (Carol) Wolters of Arizona.
Preceded in death by his parents, son, Greg Scott and sister, Betty Krueger.
