Judith (Sisley) Vosbeek, 79, of Mankato, passed away peacefully Monday, November 12, 2018 at Pathstone Living in Mankato surrounded by family.
Judy was born on August 19, 1939 in Westfield, NJ to William and Mary (Smith) Sisley. She graduated from high school in Baltimore, MD, college at Colby-Sawyer in New London, NH, and worked at Bell Telephone Laboratories in NJ. She moved to Mankato in the 1960s, Cleveland in the 1970s and 1980s, and back to Mankato. She served Blue Earth County for 33 years in the County Attorney’s Office and ended her career as the Victim/Witness Coordinator. She was the past president of many local service organizations, including Zonta International, ISJ/MHS and Pathstone Living Auxiliary Boards, a charter member of the MN General Crime Victims Coalition, and a member of Business and Professional Women and the YWCA. Additionally, she served on the board at Christian Concern and the Open Door Health Center. Judy was also honored to receive the Zonta Woman of the Year Award, the YWCA Woman of Distinction, the KEYC Jefferson Good People Award, the Sertoma Service to Mankind Award, as well as being nominated for the CADA Citizen for Peace Award. She was a driven professional and worked tirelessly for her causes.
Above all, she was proudest of her daughters, Tracy V. Dotas and Tamara V. Schindler and their families. She was actively involved in their activities. She always had time for her grandchildren and reveled in their accomplishments. Other interests included her volunteer work, bridge club, reading, and traveling with friends.
Her life will forever be cherished by her special friend, Don Roscoe; her children, Tracy (Gene) and Tammy (Bob) and their children, Jillian and Mitchell Dotas and Lauryn and Carly Schindler; her sister, Donna Drganc and her children Jennifer and Katie (Ryan and Eliza).
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Edward T. Hoch and Gerald H. Vosbeek; brother-in-law, Jack Drganc; and other relatives.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7pm, Friday, November 16, 2018 at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary. Celebration of Life will be 11am, Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Northview with visitation one hour prior. Private family graveside services will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland. No flowers, please. The family encourages memorials to any of the above organizations in Judy’s name.
The family would like to thank her medical team and caregivers at Pathstone. You all were beacons of light and encouragement in her long journey, and we are humbled to know you.
