Joan Marie Cattrysse, 83 of North Mankato, died surrounded by family on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
Visitation will be held from 5-7p.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Mankato Mortuary. Memorial Mass will be held at 2:30p.m., Thursday, October 4, 2018 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. The family prefers memorials be directed to VINE Faith in Action, 421 E. Hickory Street, Mankato, MN 56001.
Jo was born November 6, 1934 in Mankato to Berchie and Irene (Lenertz) Reid. On February 4, 1956, Jo was united in marriage to Jerome “Jerry” Cattrysse at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Jo worked for Blue Earth County as an Abstractor for many years. Later, she worked for the Public Safety Director. She adored her family and loved spending time with them. Vacationing with her children was always a highlight. She also loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports, quilting, sewing, and collecting tea pots. Jo also volunteered for Zonta and VINE.
Joan is survived by her children, Tim (Lynn) Cattrysse of Mounds View, Michael (Judy) Cattrysse of Lake Crystal, Dave (Karen Christensen) Cattrysse of Spirit Lake, IA, John (Deb) Cattrysse of North Mankato, Barb (Ripley) Smith of Blaine, Tom (Kelly) Cattrysse of North Mankato, and Dawn (David) Filzen of Powder Springs, GA; grandchildren: Jill (Chris) Larson, Laura Cattrysse, Kristine Cattrysse, Catie Cattrysse, J.J.(Brianna) Cattrysse, Derrick (Chrissy Nathan) Cattrysse, Erika (Chris) Harman, Briana (Michael) Urch, Mikala (Erick) Bocan, Sierra Smith, Dani (Shea) Roehrkasse, Jake (Audrey Hiljus) Cattrysse, Alex Filzen, Matthew Filzen, and Samantha Filzen; and five great-grandchildren with one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry, in 2010; and son, Daniel.
