Ronald Clifford Herz, age 70 of Montevideo, MN and formerly of Mankato, passed away, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 632 S. Broad Street, Mankato. Visitation will be one hour before service on Saturday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Ronald was born May 2, 1948 in Mankato to Clifford and Annetta (Heinzman) Herz. He graduated from Loyola High School in 1966. He served his country with the U.S. Army from 1968-71 and was stationed in Germany. He attended Mankato Area Vocational School and earned a degree in electronics.
On March 8, 1974 he married Amelia Herzberg. They moved to Montevideo, MN in 1974 and Ron worked his entire career in various electronic manufacturing facilities until his retirement in 2008.
Ron had a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son Ryan, nephew Tom, son-in-law Travis and his good friend Oak. He had a passion for fixing things, even if they weren’t broken, and was always on the hunt for a good deal. Ron loved to have people visit, especially his own children and grandchildren. He was always there for people giving a helping hand or offering up good advice.
Ron is survived by his wife, Amelia of Montevideo; three children, son, Ryan (Jennifer) Herz of Prior Lake, daughters, Corissa (Michael) Jones of Willmar and Melissa (Travis) Campbell of Montevideo; six grandchildren, Connor, Madison, and Mackenzie Jones, Nolan and Elle Herz, and Payton Campbell; sister, Jeanette (Richard) Keinz of Burnsville; and extended family. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Donna (Wayne) Prybylla.
