Randy Allen Van Sickle, age 66 of Lake Washington, died unexpectedly, September 4, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Monday at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato and will continue one hour before service at church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.
Randy was born September 26, 1951 to Wilbur Harley and Donna Mae (Ahrens) Van Sickle in Northfield, MN. He graduated from Northfield High School in 1970 and furthered his education in North Carolina, Texas, and Los Angeles. Randy served his country with the U.S. Army from 1971-73 and was stationed in Germany. Randy was united in marriage to Colleen A. Stenzel on August 23, 1997 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Randy was employed by Frontier Communications for over 45 years. He enjoyed deer and pheasant hunting, playing with his granddaughter, taking care of his lawn, fixing anything, never having an idle moment, and making people laugh.
Randy is survived by his wife, Colleen; three children, Jill Van Sickle of Minneapolis, Cassidy (Clint) Van Boylan of Roseville and their daughter, Neve, Nicholas Van Sickle of Lake Washington; mother, Donna Webster of Northfield; five siblings, Terry (Carol) Van Sickle of Dundas, Susan (Bruce) Nelson of Red Wing, Kathy (Steve) Schmieg of South Haven, MN, Julie Sydnes of Northfield, and Nancy Thiessen of St. Cloud; mother-in-law, Mary Stenzel of Lake Washington; many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Randy was preceded in death by his father, Harley; step-father, Duane Webster; father-in-law, Charlie Stenzel; and extended family.
