Darrell Lester Frank, age 69, of rural Eagle Lake was called home to be with the Lord, Monday, September 3, 2018 at his home.
Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Friday at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato, MN and will continue one hour before service on Saturday at church. Interment will be in Tivoli Cemetery, rural Mankato. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.
Darrell was born October 30, 1948 to Lester A. and Ilene (Thelke) Frank in Mankato. He graduated from St. Clair High School in 1966. Darrell was united in marriage to JoAn M. Hutchens on January 6, 1968 at Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Crystal. Darrell was a farmer and welder his whole life. He also worked at Wilson Trailer as a painter/welder, EL Metals, and hauled sweet corn and peas during harvest season. He was a past member of Salem Lutheran Church of Eagle Lake where he has served as a secretary, treasurer, and vice president and was a current member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Darrell enjoyed old cars, time with his grandchildren, and following Steve to make sure he was farming correctly.
Darrell is survived by his wife, JoAn; three sons, Steven (Shannon) Frank of rural Janesville, Chad Frank of Anchorage, AK, and Derek (Vicki) Frank of Elysian; six grandchildren, Ashlynn and Jake Frank, Walter Frank, Elli, Elea, and Emmi Frank; three sisters, Marilyn (Dave) Milbrett of Janesville, Marsha (Jerry) Hawker of Lake Crystal, and Darlene “George” (Jeff) Karels of Laporte, MN; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; uncle, Walt Frank; and other aunts and uncles.
