Barbara Joann Pauley, 68 of Mankato, died August 31, 2018 at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., September 22, 2018 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Dr., in North Mankato with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Madelia.

Barb was born March 3, 1950 to Lawrence and Lillian Pauley in Madelia, Minnesota. She attended parochial school and graduated from Madelia High School in 1968. She attended Abbott School of Nursing in Minneapolis, graduating with honors in 1971.

Barb’s career experience included hospital and long term care and with clients in developmental disabilities and chemical dependence programs. Barb worked with the State of Minnesota for 20 years and inspected a variety of health facilities and completed vulnerable adult investigations throughout Minnesota.

Though Barb never had children of her own, she loved her nieces and nephews as her own.

Barb is survived by her sister, Judy (Bill) Rasmussen of Madelia; brother-in-law, Ron Elkins; many nieces and nephews; and her dog, Scooter. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Ann Gaworski, Patricia Becker, and Catherine Elkins; and brothers-in-law, Gene Gaworski and Vic Becker.
