Dewey Fred Riemer, age 75, of Mankato, died on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. Burial will be at Ft. Snelling at a later date.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the mass on Friday at the church.

Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dewey Fred, the son of Chester and Vernus (Schlueter) Riemer, was born on February 5, 1943 in Tyler, MN. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1964 to 1965 during the Vietnam War as a jet mechanic and also in the U.S. Navy as a heavy equipment operator in the construction battalion. He served a total of 26 years in the military. After his service, he continued to work with heavy equipment and was also an arborist. On February 23, 2005, Dewey married Annabella Alidon in Manila, Philippines.

He survived by his wife, Annabella Riemer of Mankato, MN; children, Dawn Jackson of Forest Lake, MN and Lane Chester Riemer of Brookings, SD; brothers, Warren (Mary) Riemer of Sun City, AZ and Byron Riemer of Glendale, AZ; brother in law, Audy (Marilyn) Alidon; and nephew, Mardy Alidon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, David Riemer.
