Mildred "Millie" Enzenauer

Mildred “Millie” Enzenauer, age 97, of North Mankato, died on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 24 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.  Visitation will be Friday from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the church.  Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.  Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Mildred was born on January 26, 1921 in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County to William and Rose (Sporer) Roesch.  She attended country schools.  In May 1942, Mildred went to Santa Monica and Long Beach, CA to work at Douglas Aircraft, building planes for the war. She worked as “Rosie the Riveter.”  Millie left California in April 1945.  On April 28, 1945, Millie was united in marriage to Walter Enzenauer in Cheyenne, WY.  They farmed together for many years around the Mankato area before building their home in North Mankato.  Millie enjoyed working on photo albums, fishing, vegetable and flower gardening, canning and freezing, and attending Army reunions with Walter every year all over the United States. 

Millie is survived by daughter, Linda Cattrysse of Mankato; son, Ron (Gloria) Enzenauer of Savage, MN; grandchildren, Matt Cattrysse, Jenny (Oscar) Enzenauer Castaneda, Emily (Clint) Sticha, Theresa Enzenauer, Michael (Shannon) Enzenauer, and Becca Enzenauer; great-grandchildren, Xander Sticha and Penelope Enzenauer Castaneda; sisters, Lucille Klebel, Joan Ziegler, and Elaine Shea; and sisters-in-law, Pat Roesch and Alice Skipper.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Walter; sisters, Dorothy Funari and Lorraine (Martin) Rushing; brother, Raymond Roesch; and brother-in-law, Ken Ziegler.
