Marjorie L. Walters, age 88 of Mapleton died Monday August 20, 2018 at the Mapleton Community Home.

 Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2018 at United Church of Mapleton. Visitation will be held one hour before the service on Friday at the church. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Mapleton. Olson ~ Tichenor Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

 Marjorie L. Walters was born July 1, 1930 to Carl and Myrtle (Langmo) Wiebold in Rochester, Minnesota. She graduated from Mapleton High School. Marjorie was united in marriage to Francis Walters on November 20, 1948 in Mapleton. She worked at various jobs before joining Kerns Variety Store for 25 years. Every fall after retirement you would be sure to find her and grandpa working admissions at pumpkinland. She was an amazing mother and grandmother; always taking the time to make each of her grands feel as they were her “favorite” One of her passions was traveling, with her travels always in the direction of a casino.

 Marjorie was a long time member of the United Church of Mapleton.

 She is survived by her four children, Gary (Lois) Walters of Mapleton, Bob (Brenda) Walters of Minnesota Lake, Karen Sickler of Blue Earth, and Patti (Karl) Schultz of Mapleton; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Caryl (Dick)  O’Brien of Mapleton; nieces, nephews and cousins.

 Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Francis in 2010; granddaughter, Jennifer; two brothers, Kenny and Richard.
