Ronald L. Theobald, age 74 of Mankato, died Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Heath Systems in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. Friday at Mankato Mortuary and continue hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be at a later date in the Alden Cemetery, Alden, Minnesota.

Ronald Larry Theobald was born November 21, 1943 to Robert and Caroline (Pestorious) Theobald in Albert Lea, Minnesota. He graduated from Alden High School in 1961. He served in the U.S. Navy from August 1962 until September 1966. Ron was united in marriage to Lois Bushlack on May 11, 1968 in Wells, Minnesota.

Ron enjoyed retirement after working as a Firefighter for the city of Mankato for 28 years. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Alden American Legion and the Mankato Eagles Club. Ron liked hunting, fishing, bird watching, gardening, cooking, stamp/coin collecting, and playing cribbage.

Ron is survived by his Wife Lois; two children, Robert (Sarah) Theobald and their children, Hunter and Amber, Rhonda Theobald and her fiancé Randy Rasmussen; mother, Caroline Theobald of Waseca; four siblings, Sharon (Ken) Mulder of Cross Lake, MN, Linda Olson of Zimmerman, MN, Jan (Steve) Burnett of Waseca, Jim Theobald Coon Rapids; nieces and nephews.
