Audrey Jeanne Wood

Audrey Jeanne Wood, age 10, of Mankato, died peacefully at home with her parents by her side, on Sunday, August 5, 2018 from complications of a brain tumor.

Funeral Service celebrating Audrey's Life will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Friday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Memorials are preferred to Camp Firefly - Firefly Foundation (www.campfirefly.com), Friends4Michael (www.friends4michael.org), or the donor's choice.

Audrey was born on July 11, 2008 to Brent and Shanna (Sonnek) Wood in Mankato. She was a fifth grader at Washington Elementary School. Audrey was involved in dance with Impulse Dance, a member of Girl Scout Troop # 34641, and she enjoyed taking piano lessons for the last two years. Audrey loved the outdoors and spent time outside biking, swimming, and hanging out with friends. She loved trips to the arcade to play games and giving the claw machine a try. She could always be found making a new batch of slime, playing a board game, or building a new Lego set. Audrey will be remembered for her incredible, beautiful smile and contagious laugh.

Audrey is survived by her parents, Brent and Shanna Wood; grandparents, Doug and Bev Wood and Dan and Julie Sonnek all of Mankato; aunts and uncles, Curt and Christine Wood of Chanhassen, and Adam and April Sonnek of Vancouver, WA; cousins, Sebastian, Elliot, and Romy Wood; and many other relatives, great friends and her pet cat, Tina.

Audrey was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Richard and Jeanne Wood, Arden and Dorothy Asleson, Willard and Anna Sonnek, Eugene and Victoria Wilder; and her pet cat, Thor.
