Marguerite Mary Burns
Marguerite Mary Burns, age 95, of Mankato, died Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.
Funeral service will be 11am, Monday, July 30, 2018, at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary with visitation one hour prior. Following a luncheon at Northview, burial will take place at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Mankato. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association. Marguerite was born December 23, 1922, in Lake Andes, SD to Michael and Fern (Cleveland) Connelly. She was united in marriage to Robert L. Burns on March 6, 1939, in Nashua, IA. For over 27 years, Marguerite served lunches to hundreds of children at Franklin School. In her spare time, she enjoyed embroidering, sewing, traveling, camping, being outside, and spending time with her family.
Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Jane (Allen) Nelson of New Richland; son, Charles (Debra) Burns of Mankato; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Pamela Burns; sister, Adeline Hansen; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; son, James Burns; 5 sisters; and 3 brothers.
