Dale Wingen

Dale Wingen, 82 of Good Thunder, died Saturday, July 21, 2018 at his home in Good Thunder.

Memorial Service will be 11:00a.m., Friday, July 27, 2018 at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, in North Mankato with visitation one hour prior to the service, Pastor Maurer officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Good Thunder.

Dale was born September 5, 1935 to LaVerne and Luverne (Larson) Wingen in Mankato. He graduated from Rapidan High School in 1953. He received his Bachelor of Science from Mankato Teachers College in 1957 and Masters of Education from Chicago State University. He married Carol Beschnett on June 9, 1957 at St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder. Dale taught Industrial Arts for 33 years in the Hammond Indiana School District.

In his free time, Dale enjoyed woodworking, watching sports (especially basketball), gardening, eating ice cream, and was a devoted family man.

Dale is survived by his wife, Carol of 61 years; children, Craig (Mary Ellen) Wingen, Jayne (Michael) Harvey, and Neal (Abby) Wingen; grandchildren, Andrew (Kelly) and Alex Wingen, Jeremy (Erika Jarnes) and Joshua Harvey, Katelyn (Anthony) Becker, Sam, Thomas, and Matthew Wingen. Dale is preceded in death by his parents.
