Robert Gil Sproles

Robert Gil Sproles, 50, died Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at his Cleveland, Minnesota home.

Memorial service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Crossview Covenant Church, 2000 Howard Drive, North Mankato. Mankato Mortuary assisted with arrangements.

Gil was born on May 24, 1968 in Midland, Texas to Everett and Peggy Sproles. Gil resided in Texas and Minnesota during his life and in 2013, Gil permanently returned to Mankato area. It was then that he began driving for Kato Cab. He enjoyed his fellow cab drivers, the people he met and the challenges of making each of them smile!

Gil spent many hours fishing, enjoyed the companionship of his bird, Falcon, and loved spending time with his son, Bruce and granddaughter, Jada.

Gil is survived by son, Bruce Sproles and a granddaughter, Jada both of St. Peter; son, Zachary Sproles of Mankato and Bryan Berube of Colorado; two sisters and their husbands, Deanna and Wes Jones, Donna and Jack Horton all of Midland, Texas; aunt, Bonnie and uncle, Jim Carter also of Midland, Texas; nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends, Bob and Helen Young, and best buddy, Harold. Preceding him in death were his grandmothers, Mary Fortune and Mildred ‘Nana’ Sproles; parents, Everett and Peggy Sproles; and a brother. Rowdy Sproles.

Gil touched many lives with his kind heart and laughter…he will be truly missed by so many people.
