Barbara Luann Bates Walker, 74 of Mankato MN, formerly of Chandler AZ, died July 4, 2018.

An open house celebration of life gathering will be held at the home of her son, Darrick Bogenrief in Rochester on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 3:00-6:00 pm. Please contact a member of the family for the address. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Barbara was born June 27, 1944 to Vere and Elizabeth (Senn) Bates at Winnebago Hospital. She graduated from Winnebago High School in 1962 and North Iowa Area Community College of Mason City in 1982. She married Arnold Bogenrief in 1963 in Winnebago. They later divorced in 1977. In 1984 Barbara moved to Arizona where she resided until July 1, 2018. On February 14, 1991, Barbara was united in marriage to Darold Gene Walker. He passed away in November 2012. Barbara spent her working years as an LPN and foster parent.

She is survived by her daughter, Casandra Bogenrief of Good Thunder; son, Darrick (Angela) Bogenrief of Rochester; grandchildren, Zachary Lopez, Claire and Cate Bogenrief and great-granddaughter Delilah Lopez.

She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Robert Bates; and her parents.
