Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato. Visitation will take place from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive in North Mankato, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato with military honors.
Robert was born on August 31, 1927 to Frank and Margaret (Sippel) Anderson in Easton. Bob graduated from Delavan High School and attended St. John’s University and Dunwoody Institute. He served in the U.S. Navy at the end of WWII and served a tour of duty on the U.S.S. Fargo in the Mediterranean during the Occupation of France. Bob married Helen Koch on October 17, 1955 at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Minneota. He had a long career in hardware sales and was previously employed by Coast to Coast and C&S Supply of Mankato. Bob was a member of the VFW Post 950, DFL, and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed calligraphy, coin collecting, leather working, and finance.
He is survived by his wife, Helen of North Mankato; children, Chris (Barb) Anderson of Kasota, Marcia Anderson of Wauwatosa, WI, Linus (Staci) Anderson of North Mankato, Anthony Anderson of North Mankato, Jessica (Alan) Yonkovich of Delavan, and Emily Anderson (Troy Kiffmeyer) of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Stephanie (Matt) Lauer & Melany (Cory) Jans, Paige & Tristan Kiffmeyer, Adrian, Joelle & Cecelia Anderson; great granddaughter, Nora Mae Lauer; and brother, Charles Anderson of Croton, NY.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 siblings.
