Magdalen Mary Spriggs

Magdalen “Meg” Mary Spriggs, age 85 of Mankato, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 9:50 p.m. from complications of long-term cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 25 at 1:00 p.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. Private family interment will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Minnesota Lake. Northview – North Mankato Mortuary is assisting Magdalen’s family with arrangements. Meg was born July 26, 1932 in Wells, MN to George and Anna Stenzel. She is survived by her son, Garr (Kim) Spriggs; daughters: Leslie Spriggs, Shellie (Tim) Altenhofen, and Julie (Tom) Marks; 12 grandchildren: Garret, Kai, John, Julie, Heather, Heidi, Blaine, Trey, Seth, Logan, Luke, and Anna; and two great-grandchildren: Nora and Brooks. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Jim Spriggs in 2002; daughter, Valerie Spriggs; two sisters; and one brother. Her life was characterized by her strong faith and her love for her family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mayo Hospice and SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
