Gene "Mitch" Powell

Gene “Mitch” Powell, 61 of Mankato, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2018 at his home in Mankato surrounded by family.

A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Mankato Mortuary with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mitch was born August 27, 1956 to Terry and Beverly (Gosewisch) Powell in Mankato. He graduated from Mankato West High School in 1974. He married Sheila Feltman on December 1, 1994 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Mitch is survived by his wife, Sheila; children, Eli (Cléo) Powell of Lake Crystal, Ryan Powell of Lake Crystal, Landon Bowers of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Eric Gruber of Duluth, Minnesota, Sam Powell of Mankato, Rose Powell of Mankato, and Terrence Powell of Lake Crystal; step-sons, Gregory (Colleen Eilers) Feltman of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Jeremy (Liza Hennings) Feltman of Colton, South Dakota; special children, Bekah (David) Korn of Hurricane, Utah and Glen “Bud” Shouts of Mankato; eight grandchildren; mother, Beverly Powell; step-father, Robert Kulseth; siblings, Corey Powell; Peggy (John) Mack; and many extended family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Terry; sister, Terrie Ann; and mother and father-in-law, Donna and Raymond Feltman.
