Douglas Allan Young, age 57, of Mankato, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at his home.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Minneopa Cemetery, Mankato at a later date.
Doug was born on January 17, 1961 to Harland and Ramona (Forbush) Young in Mankato. After Doug completed high school he joined the Air Force. Following, he spent many years working as a cab driver, cook, and laborer. He enjoyed the outdoors, grilling, going to the casino and most of all spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends. He loved to make people laugh especially with his noise impersonations of just about anything. Doug will be deeply missed by those who love him and all of those who knew him.
He is survived by three children, Matthew Mathwig, Zachary and Chelsi; two grandchildren, Jace and Siennah; four siblings, Jon (Doris), Danny, Tharon (Julie) and Richard; uncle, George; and many other nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
