Darrold John Schall

Darrold John Schall, age 69, of North Mankato, Minnesota died Friday, May 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving family in his home.

Funeral Service will be Thursday, May 31 at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato (105 Hosanna Drive) at 11 a.m. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 30 from 4-7 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary and will resume at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Interment will take place at Minneopa Cemetery in Mankato.

Darrold was born September 12, 1948 to Frank and Geraldine (Blaufuss) Schall in Devils Lake, North Dakota. He graduated from Crary High School in North Dakota in 1966 and attended college at the University of North Dakota. Darrold married Cindy “Margie” (Axtman) Schall in 1969 and together they had three children. Darrold worked in the plastics industry for over forty years. He was a member of Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato. Darrold enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting trap, camping, and exploring his ancestry. He and Margie enjoyed making trips to the cemeteries of their ancestors.

Darrold is survived by his wife, Margie; children, Terri Birchem of Fridley and John (Amy) Schall of St. Paul Park; grandchildren, Kaeley, Emily, Brianna, Mary Jo, Chastine (Cohl), Hailey, Noah, Kalley, and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Paisley and Maverick; brothers, Jerry (Connie) and Michael (Kim); sister, Vicki (Glen) Anderson; son-in-law, Dan Hewitt; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Hewitt; and mother and father-in-law, Kenny and Jeanne Axtman.
