Donna Skarpohl

Donna (Frederickson) Skarpohl died peacefully in her home Sunday, May 20, 2018.

Memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2018 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato with the Rev. Jay Dahlvang officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.

 Donna Skarpohl was born November 4, 1925 to Anne (Jacobson) and Hjalmar Frederickson in Hanska. When Donna was 14, the family moved to LaSalle. Donna was united in marriage on January 3, 1953, to Kent Skarpohl at La Salle Lutheran Church. After her marriage to Kent, they lived in Pueblo, Colorado and then moved to Mankato.

In 1994, Donna and Kent started Skarpohl Pressure Washer Sales and Service, which continues to be run by the family. Donna loved her family, motorcycles and motorcycle touring with her late husband, taking cruises and traveling with family and friends in the United States, Asia, Russia, Mexico, Europe, South America and Africa. She loved being a part of Bethlehem Lutheran Church for 60 years. Donna is remembered as an honest and kind woman who was liked by everyone she met. 

Donna is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Skarpohl and husband, Bruce Pepper; daughter, Christine Skarpohl Gregory and husband, Robert Boyd; son, Mark Skarpohl and wife, Gayle; daughter,  Mary Skarpohl and partner, Brian Woitas; and good friend, Stephen Gregory; grandchildren, Layla and Jay Pappas, Ivy and Aaron Mattocks,  Connor Pepper, Shane and Rachael Pepper, Forest and Carolyn Gregory, Aura and Chris Austin, Annastasia Skarpohl-Ost and fiancé, Dalton Huebner, and Colton Skarpohl-Ost; step-grandchildren, Darin and Dylan Woitas, and Sierra and Taiga Student; great-grandchildren, Shonen Alvarado, Oskar Mattocks, Solomon Weller, Pilot Pappas, Kaia and Chiara Austin, Roderic and Randon Pepper, and Oceana and Fiona Gregory. 

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Anne and Hjalmar Frederickson; her husband, Clarence (Kent) Skarpohl;and her five siblings, Carol, Howard, Arden, Mary Jane, and Roger.
