Dolores Jean Bresnan

Dolores Jean (Horning) Bresnan, age 85 of Mankato, Minnesota, died Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, May 22 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place Calvary Cemetery in Mankato at a later date. Mankato Mortuary is assisting Dolores’ family.

Dolores was born on June 5, 1932 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She graduated from the Academy of Holy Angels in 1952. Dolores continued her education and became a licensed practical nurse. She served the Mankato community for over 25 years during her nursing career. Dolores married Robert “Bud” Bresnan on September 6, 1958 and they were married until his death on May 18, 1988. Dolores was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato. She enjoyed music, reading, crafts, cooking, baking, and travel. When she could no longer travel she enjoyed watching the birds and other wildlife from her windows.  Dolores was a dedicated and loving mother to her four children and many others.

Dolores is survived by her children: Timothy, Kathleen, and Matthew (Jessica); grandchildren: Lucas,  Nicole Maakestad, Andrew, Elijah, Isabella, Jennifer (Greg) Burkhardt, and T.J. Caron; great-grandchildren, Madison and Trevor; brother-in-law, Patrick of Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California; many nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Patricia Lee’s children to whom she served as a mother to for 44 years after her passing: Dennis, Jan, Paul, Shawn, and Marty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud and son, Patrick, her mother-in-law Ann, brother and sisters-in-law, William and Barbara, and Ken and Marilyn Berg.
