John Michael Adolphson

John M. Adolphson, age 61 of Mankato, Minnesota, died Monday, May 14, 2018 in Mankato.

John was born July 2, 1956 in Dawson, Minnesota to Don and Audrey (Olson) Adolphson. He graduated from Dawson High School in 1975. John attended Moorhead State University until joining the Airforce. He was a long distance truck driver for many years. John was an avid hunter and he shared many special hunting trips with his father, and he liked to golf.

John is survived by his special friend, Bonnie Holbrook; mother, Audrey Adolphson; sister, Julie (Kirk) Detlefsen; niece, Kristi (Bryce) Peterson of Oregon; and nephews, Karl Detlefsen of California, Keith (Jaye) Detlefsen and Kent (Kelley) Detlefsen of Lakeville, Minnesota; four grandnephews; and three grandnieces. John was preceded in death by his father, Donald Adolphson and grandparents, Joe and Lurene Olson of Hastings and Reuben and Marie Adolphson of St. Peter.

Memorial Service will be Monday, May 21 at 11 a.m. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Hastings, Minnesota (400 Ninth St. West) with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in St. Peter, Minnesota at a later date. Mankato Mortuary is assisting John’s family with arrangements.
