Richard (Rich) Gregory Boruff, age 79 died on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at his home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 18th at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 11am with Father Paul van de Crommert officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 17th from 5pm-8pm with a prayer service at 8pm at North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Holy Rosary’s Stepping Up in Faith, American Heart Association or donor choice.

Richard was born on May 19, 1938 in Burlington, Wisconsin. Rich attend Mankato High School where he excelled as an athlete on the football field and ball diamond. He graduated from Mankato State College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1960 and later a Bachelor of Science degree in 1961. Richard married the love of his life, Carol Haefner, on August 19, 1961 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Richard worked for 40 years alongside his father, Sam Boruff, in the dairy milking equipment industry for the J.C. Marlow Company which later became the family business. After Rich retired, he and Carol were able to travel to the Hawaiian Islands, Canada, Paris, France and on an African Safari. Richard & Carol were longtime members of the Mankato Golf Club. He enjoyed his weekly golf foursomes every Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. Rich and Carol were avid Vikings fans, having had season tickets for many years; traveling to two Super Bowls, one in New Orleans and the other in Pasadena. Richard enjoyed gathering with family, friends and especially his grandchildren at the cottage on Lake Washington.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Carol, daughter Sandi Miller and fiancée Onnie Brodkorb of St Peter, son Jim Boruff and wife Vicki of Belle Plaine. Grandchildren Megan Sunde, of Faribault, Chelsea Miller of Henderson, Rebecca and husband John Kraska of Elko/New Market, Mikhayla Clausen and Emily Boruff of Belle Plaine. Great Grandchildren, Aiden Enfield and Arayaquin Sunde of Faribault and Georgia Rae Kraska of Elko/New Market. His brother, Stephen Boruff and wife Diane of Burnsville and  niece Catherine Boruff and husband Zach Hedling and son Bruce of Alaska; nephew John Boruff and wife Abby of Minneapolis; his uncle, Burdett Brekke and wife Barbara of California and cousins; Jill Montonari and Linda Bakke-Brekken and families of California. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Sam & Juella Boruff, his uncle Jerome Boruff and son-in-law Christian Miller.
