Shirley Ann Wolfe, 73 of Cook, Minnesota and formerly of Mankato, passed away peacefully, Sunday, May 6, 2018 in Duluth, Minnesota with her husband by her side.
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 11, 2018 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary in North Mankato with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Mankato.
Shirley was born November 3, 1944 to Irene and George Christensen. She grew up in Freeborn, Minnesota. On November 30, 1963 she was united in Marriage to David Wolfe of Mankato. Together they were blessed with three beautiful children.
Shirley was a Den Mother with the Cub Scouts and also taught religious education. She was a founding member of the Mankato Early Childhood Family Education program where she worked until her retirement. She will always be "Miss Shirley" to some.
Shirley was an avid Vikings fan. She also enjoyed the Minnesota Twins, NASCAR, bull riding, snowmobiling, and fishing. She played softball for many years. She always looked forward to her Friday nights with her great ECFE/Education friends. Over the last few years, Shirley enjoyed their trips to Laughlin yearly with dear friends. Her biggest joy was her family. She had a heart of gold and a Hug like no other!
Shirley is survived by her husband, David of Cook, Minnesota; son, Dan (Janis) Wolfe of Pequot Lakes, Minnesota; daughter, Debbi(Chuck) Jansen of Good Thunder, Minnesota; son, Tom Wolfe of Mankato, Minnesota; grandchildren, Jesse (Laura) Wolfe of Maple Plain, Minnesota, Nick Wolfe of Tampa Bay, Florida, Kellie (Josh) Lange of Rosemount, Minnesota, Molly Jansen of Mankato, Minnesota, and Kayla Jansen of Good Thunder, Minnesota; great-grandchildren, Teddy Wolfe and Harper Lange; sister, Nancy (Gene) Millang of Freeborn, Minnesota; sister-in-law, MaryLou Ruch of Mankato, Minnesota; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Irene and George Christensen; Parents-in-law, Clarence “Pib” and Louise “Peg” Wolfe; grandson, Kyle Jansen; and great-grand baby, Lange.
