Mary Lorraine Weckman, age 85, of Mankato, passed away April 28, 2018 at Oaklawn Health Care Center, Mankato, surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato. Visitation will also take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. 

Memorials requested by the family to be sent to Mayo Hospice or Birthright.

Mary was born in Minneapolis, December 24th, 1932. She married George Weckman on July 2, 1955. They had 6 children.

Mary enjoyed golfing, reading, spending time with her friends and family and much dedication to her faith. Mary became a registered nurse in 1953. She continued her service as a nurse throughout the years working at St. Joseph Hospital in Pediatrics, then also being the director of nursing at REM, Mankato for 15 years.

Mary was an active member of St. John Catholic Church and was a coordinator of Perpetual Adoration among many other parish ministries, including being an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister of Communion.

Mary is preceded in death and now reunited with her husband, George.

She is survived by 6 children, sons: Peter (Joan) Weckman, Paul (Penny) Weckman, John (Deb) Weckman, Nick (Marla) Weckman, daughters: Ann (Joe) Weckman-Folz, Maria (Kevin) Kennedy. Mary had 13 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren, in which she absolutely loved spending time with; sister, Elizabeth Hartle; special nieces, Meg (Wes) Hartle-Swimelar, Chris (Wayne) Mattsfield; two newphews, John Korth and Mike (Kathy) Korth.
