Bernadine “Dena” Ruth Bailey, age 84 of Mankato, died Monday, April 23, 2018 at Cottagewood Senior Community in Mankato.

Funeral service will be Friday, April 27 at 11 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church in North Mankato with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca. Mankato Mortuary is assisting Dena’s family with arrangements.

Dena was born May 27, 1933 to Elof and Elsie (Swenson) Anderson in Waseca. She graduated from Waseca High School in 1951. Dena married Victor W. Bailey on May 5, 1956 at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca. She enjoyed shopping, ceramics, playing bridge, Dairy Queen, and Applebee’s boneless honey barbeque wings! Dena was a loving, kind, and special person and she was a mother like no other. She loved and cherished spending time with her many friends.

Dena is survived by her children, Janice Bailey and Jodelle (Mark) Wadekamper; grandchildren, Amber Rose (Ryan) Kielty, Justin (Nayelli) Wadekamper, Joshua Wadekamper, and grand-fur baby, Lacee; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Rose Kielty, Conor James Kielty, and Camila Wren Wadekamper; special nieces, Fayeann Dorn, Vicki Gleason, Connie Fredrick, and Janet Drews; and many other family members and very special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; three sisters, Doris Matson, Mildred Drews, and Rahma Baker; three brothers, her twin Bernell Anderson, Clifford Anderson, and Kenneth “Grumpy” Anderson.
