Ardyce (Worrell) Christianson, 96 of Mankato, passed away April 23, 2018 at Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center in Mankato
Funeral is 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 27, 2018 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. Family burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in St. Peter. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ardyce was born in Traverse Township, St. Peter, Minnesota, on June 22, 1921 to Edwin and Edna (Holmberg) Thompson.
She graduated from St. Peter High School in 1938 and attended Gustavus Adolphus College for two years. She was employed in Washington, D.C., Minneapolis, and at the Rock Island Railroad in Denver, Colorado.
She married Blaine Worrell of St. Peter, Minnesota, on June 26, 1946 at the First Lutheran Church in St. Peter, they remained married until his death in February 1981. She was employed at the St. Peter Public School District as Secretary to the Superintendent of schools for over twenty-five years until January 1, 1982. She was then employed by Manpower Temporary Services of Mankato and by Dr. Don Olmanson in St. Peter until 1995. For many years after retirement, she volunteered at Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.
She married Russell Christianson on June 25, 1995 and moved to Mankato. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and she enjoyed playing bridge, reading, traveling and her volunteer work at the hospital. Russell died in March, 2004.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Gale Worrell of Wichita, Kansas, a son Bradley Worrell and his special friend, Karen Hauer of Mankato; three granddaughters, Erin (Aaron) Gutierrez of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jenny (Nick) Moore of Wichita, Kansas, and Lisa (Zac) Painter of Mankato; one grandson, Jason (Jenna) Worrell, of North Mankato; and four great grandsons and two great granddaughters. Also surviving is one stepdaughter, Linda Solyntjes of Mankato, and one step grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Edna; her two husbands, Blaine and Russell; her brother, Curtis and wife Thea Thompson of California; and one sister, Lorraine Tave Coffelt of Mankato.
