Colleen LaMae Yaeger, age 81 of Mankato passed away peacefully holding her daughters hands with her favorite four legged friend, Vivian at her side on April 16, 2018.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2018 at Hosanna Lutheran Church with Pastor Mike Omtvedt officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m., Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in the spring at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Rapidan. Memorials may be given to Hosanna Lutheran Church.
Colleen LaMae Yaeger was born June 6, 1936 to Harry and Ione (Nerum) Beadell in Revere, Minnesota. Colleen graduated in 1954 from Rapidan High School where she meet the love of her life Clifford Yaeger. They married on April 27, 1958 in Mankato. She worked as a legal secretary for the Frank Heil Law Firm until Cindy was born. She then became a full-time farm wife. When her children were older she worked as a Teacher’s Aide at Rapidan Elementary School.
Colleen was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school, bible school, was president of her Ladies Aid and member of LWML. In later years, she became a member of Hosanna Lutheran Church where she made it almost every Sunday due to her dear friends Kathy and Gary Iverson.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel, loved birds and angels, country music and any shade of the color purple. Most of all she loved her family and grand puppy Vivian.
Colleen is survived by her two daughters, Cindy (Dave) Slater of Good Thunder, Carrie Ellington of Minneapolis; three grandchildren, Christopher (Megan) Junker, Katie (Nate) Lotton, Sammi Jo Slater and her fiancé, Michael Sohre; six great-grandchildren, Ashton, Landon, Vincen, Preston, Henry, and Rowan; three brothers, Quentin (Carolyn) Beadell, Harry (Deb) Beadell, Gene (Sue) Beadell; sisters-in-law, Lynn Beadell, Betty (Ron) Scheider; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and honorary third daughter, Allison Dusek.
Preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Clifford in 2009, two brothers, Robert and Donald Beadell; one sister, Beverly Beadell.
To honor Colleen please wear any shade of purple to the funeral.
