John Herman Lievan, age 88, of North Mankato passed away peacefully at Oak Terrace’s Autumn Lane Community of North Mankato, on Saturday, April 14, 2018. Northview – North Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Union Cemetery, Mapleton.

John was born on August 23, 1929 to Sophie (Schubbe) and Warren Lievan.  He is a graduate of Mapleton High School, where he was active in sports.  Following graduation, he became a well-known salesman in the Mankato area.  He later became owner of Bellkato, Inc.  John was active in many organizations, including the Mankato Sertoma club, the Elks Lodge, and Vine. After retirement, he spent 15 winters in Arizona and the other months in Mankato.  He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings as well as the Chicago Cubs.  He was also an avid golfer.  For the last several years, he was a resident of Oak Terrace Assisted Living and Oak Terrace’s Autumn Lane Community of North Mankato.

He is survived by son Randy Lievan of San Diego, California and daughter Marcia (Doug) Hunziker of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota; three grandsons, Frank, Mark and Michael; three granddaughters, Dawn, Alicia and Amberly; five great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; special friends Audrey Annis and Robert Kitchenmaster, as well as many cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
