Noreen Cecilia Gehlen, age 93 of Mankato, and formerly from Montgomery and Glencoe died peacefully on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 16, 2018 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Mankato. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Private burial will take place at a later date. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Noreen was born June 3, 1924 to Joseph and Josephine Bendzick in Le Sueur, Minnesota.  Noreen was an elementary teacher for many years.  She enjoyed gardening and most of all spending time with her family.

Noreen is survived by her three children, Karl (Irene) Jindra, LeAnn Shea and Jinean (Craig) Schofield; grandchildren, Ellen (Adam Steiner) Schofield, Lynn (Sean) Peterson, Laura Schofield, Elizabeth (Nat) Weiner; great-grandchild, Jacob Weiner; step-children, Gary (Roberta) Gehlen, Richard (Shirley) Gehlen, Carol (Russ) Mancel, Bob (Arlys) Gehlen, Chuck (Gloria) Gehlen and Barbara Gehlen; sister, Dorothy Landsman; nieces, Jean (Jim) Forbord and Jackie Iten.

Preceded in death by her husbands, parents, and 10 siblings.
