Bradley Charles Schmidt, age 49, of Mankato died on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in his home surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, March 17 at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Mayo Hospice or the Mayo Andreas Cancer Center in Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
Bradley was born on May 12, 1968 in Mankato to Terry and Monica (Grams) Schmidt. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1987. Bradley met his long-time partner and fiancé, Jenny Wirig, in 1999. He enjoyed working at Unimin for 18 years. Bradley enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking, drinking beer, collecting antiques, tearing the house apart and putting it back together, video games, making home videos, and most of all, spending time with his family. He will always be remembered for his selfless, dependable, laid back, and patient nature and his relentless sense of humor.
Bradley is survived by his parents, Monica and Terry; fiancé, Jenny Wirig; children, McKenzie, Josh, Jordan, and Alyssa; grandchildren, Easton and Ayla; siblings, Michelle (Wade) Schmidt-Fischer, Mollie, and Daniel (Realyn Tio); niece, Maesa; nephews, Tevyn, Keaton, and Brody; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thelma and Gilbert Schmidt and Margaret and Walter Grams.
The family would like to express sincere thanks and appreciation to the Andreas Cancer Center and Mayo Hospice for their excellent care of Bradley.
