Elverna Rosaville Schimmele, age 98, of Good Thunder, went to her Eternal home on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the Mapleton Community Home.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., noon, Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder, with Rev. Rudolph Maurer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church. Interment will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, at a future date. Mankato Mortuary is handling the arrangements. Memorials are preferred to the family.

Elverna was born on June 3, 1919, in Beauford Township to Arthur and Martha Sohre. Elverna was united in marriage to Elmer John Carl Schimmele on August 28, 1953, in Good Thunder. They were blessed with a son, Gene in 1956.

Elverna was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder. She enjoyed gardening, old time music, dancing and playing cards. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and always brought gifts when visiting. Elverna loved life and lived it her way to the fullest.

Elverna is survived by her son, Gene (Lori) Schimmele of Buffalo; grandchildren, Chris (Ann) Hill of Becker, Chad Schimmele of Buffalo, Kelly (Andrew) Lathrop of Big Lake, and Kayla (Joseph) Maring of St. Louis Park; great-grandchildren, Kiersten, Paige, Mason and Easton; brothers, Glen (Marianne) Sohre of Good Thunder and LeRoy Sohre of Good Thunder; also many other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer John Carl Schimmele; parents; brothers, Lester, Merlin, and Elmer; sister, Viona (Pip).
