Ruth died at the age of 99 at Oak Terrace in North Mankato on March 10, 2018.

Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Belgrade Avenue Methodist Church in North Mankato. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in Kern’s Oak Grove Cemetery. Arrangements with North Mankato Mortuary - Northview.

Ruth was born August 13, 1918 to Fred and Florence (Maskrey) Lundin in their Judson home. She was the third child in a family of four. Her dad died when Ruth was 10 years old. The family moved to North Mankato and later Mankato.

Ruth learned to play the piano and had her own recital at the age of 12 or 13 playing, ten memorized pieces. She only had three years of piano lessons and went on to be the accompanist for Bethel Baptist Church in Mankato playing for Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday services.

Ruth graduated from Mankato High School and later married Roy Burnett on September 6, 1941. They were married for 72 years. Ruth was a former Sunday school teacher, 4-H leader, and chairman of her women’s circle at Belgrade Avenue Methodist Church. She was a member of Kern's Cemetery Aid and birthday club.

Ruth loved to play piano and organ, attend church, go to dances, play cards and spend time at family gatherings.

Ruth is survived by son, Bruce (Judy) Burnett of North Mankato; daughter, Kay (Dean) Ulrich of Good Thunder; son-in-law, Jim Unverzagt of Papillion, NE; nine grandchildren, Mark (Ginger) Unverzagt, Mike (Tracy) Unverzagt, Keith (Ann) Burnett, Kristine (Don) Green, Kyle (Nancy) Burnett, Kelly (Craig) Hoeft, Sherri Burnham, Nathan (Mary) Ulrich, Garrett (Kelly) Ulrich; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy on November 20, 2013, brothers Edward and Fredrick Lundin; sister, Edith Kasen; daughter, Barbara Unverzagt on April 3, 2015.
