She was born to Minnie and J Fred Bergemann in Lyra Township, near Vernon Center, December 6, 1917. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran and also attended St. John Lutheran School through the 8th grade. Married Christian E. Siebens November 4, 1938 at St. John Lutheran. Chris and Frieda farmed in Good Thunder and Dodge Center, and had a family of two young sons before Chris died in 1954. Frieda then married Hans F. Kruse May 5, 1956 at St. John and moved to New Richmond, WI, where they farmed several years. In November 1959, they returned to the Mankato area and farmed along the Judson Bottom Road for 27 years, before retiring and returning to the Good Thunder area in 1986.
Frieda’s priority in life was her faith in Jesus Christ, first and foremost and her love and care of her family. She was active in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Mankato and St. John Lutheran Good Thunder Ladies Aids, supporting Youth projects and helping out with Sunday school. She enjoyed writing anagrams of people’s names, and had many hymns and Bible texts memorized, which was a great comfort when her vision failed.
She is survived by her children, Marlin(Judi) Siebens of Goodyear, AZ, Steward (Linda) Siebens of St. Johns, AZ, daughter-in-law, Anita Kruse (Kevin) of North Mankato, MN, and daughters, Stephanie Kruse of Good Thunder, MN and Pamela (Dave) Coste of Phoenix, AZ , 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Augusta Stusse of Fairmont, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, son, Kevin Kruse, all 11 siblings, as well as in-laws from Bergemann, Siebens and Kruse families.
Special thanks to the staff of St. Croix Hospice, as well as Mayo Health System-Mankato, Pathstone Living and Mapleton Community Home where she had brief stays in the past few months.
Memorials preferred to St. John Lutheran Church, Good Thunder.
