Duane Ralph Burnett, age 88, of Lake Crystal, died Monday, February 26, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Mankato.
Funeral Service 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at River Ridge Evangelical Free Church, 354 Carol Ct, North Mankato. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at church. Interment with military honors will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Duane was born January 13, 1930 to Ralph Elmer and Esther (Siehndel) Burnett in St. Peter, MN. He graduated from St. Peter High School.Duane served his country with the US Army Air Force and the US Army. Duane married Melda E. Frisvold in 1969 in Sioux Falls, SD. Duane worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Mankato and Scottsdale, AZ for over 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed baseball and basketball.
Duane is survived by his wife, Melda of Lake Crystal; children, Susan (Joseph) Quaale of Brooklyn Park, Nancy Joseph of Woodbury, Donald (Cindy) Burnett of Mankato, Gail (Greg) Harting of Little Elm, TX, LeRoy (Cindy) Burnett of Wausau, WI, and Esther Burnett of Texas; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four sisters, LaVina (Jim) Reif of Byron, IL, Ada Harris of Mankato, Dianne Borchardt of Scottsdale, AZ, Ann Frerichs of Eaton, CO; and extended family.
