Virgil Ray Marble, age 75 of Mankato, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Laurels Peak Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.
Celebration of Life service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Beauford UMC in Beauford, MN. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at the church. Burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Mankato Area Veterans Squad or Laurels Peak Activities Department. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Virgil Ray Marble was born June 23, 1942 to Bruce and LeVona (Lurhring) Marble in Mankato. Virgil graduated from Mapleton High School in 1960 and then served his country in the US Air Force from 1960 until 1964. He married Diane Hamer on June 29, 1963, they later divorced. Virgil married Judith Marquardt on June 6, 2014. Virgil worked as a police officer, at Seven-Up Bottling and most recently as a bus driver. He was a member of American Legion Post 11 and 40 and 8 club. Virgil enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, playing cards and watching Minnesota Sports.
Virgil is survived by three daughters, Marina (John) Severns of Elysian, Shirley (Richard) Borneke of Eagle Lake, Candice (Paul) Passmore of Las Vegas; four grandchildren, Nathan, Nicholas, and Brayton Borneke, Ashley Passmore; wife Judith; four siblings, Harlan (Elaine) Marble of Mapleton, Dale Marble of St. Clair, Royce (Barb) Marble of Slayton, Brenda (Jeff) Wilaby of Waseca; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Mary Marble.
