Sue Crane, age 84, of Garden City, died of ALS at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center on Sunday, January 7, 2018.
ALS is a cruel disease but it did not define who she was: musician, teacher, caregiver.
A Private Service has been held with interment in Garden City Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Fire Departments of Vernon Center, Good Thunder, or Lake Crystal. Memorials and condolences can be sent to Donald “Obe” Crane, 714 Southbend Avenue, Mankato, MN 56001. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Sue was born on February 20, 1933 to Janet (Nelson) and Ray Gustafson, Sr. She was married to Donald “Obe” Crane on July 10, 1955 and they lived in Garden City their entire married life.
Sue is survived by her husband, Donald; her sister-in-law, Phyllis Taylor and Phyllis’ children, Tom and Pat, Larry and Paulette, Don and Neta, and their families. She is also survived by her brother Ray’s step children; Judy and Ken Truebenbach, Sandy Hollerich, Kathi and Gordon Oachs, Jane and Dean Caldwell and Ray’s many step-grandchildren.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ray Gustafson and his wife, Shirley; her brother-in-law, Bill Taylor; and two step-nephews, Dennis Hollerich and James Hollerich.
Sue and Obe want to thank everyone at Hillcrest Rehabilitation for the exceptional care given to them. They also want to extend a thank you to the Mayo Hospice Team.
