Ricky D. Kruger

Ricky Dean Kruger, 59 of Waseca MN, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on January 10th, 2018 in Mankato, MN.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary.

Ricky was born October 9th, 1958 in Worthington, MN to Sidney and Martha (VanHal) Kruger, where he grew up with his four siblings. He was a 1977 graduate of Worthington High School where he excelled in cross country running and wrestling. After moving to Mankato, he married and had two daughters, Alexa Kruger and Ashley Kruger.

Throughout the years, Ricky served as everyone’s favorite bartender at various establishments such as Mankato’s Best Western in the 80’s, to William’s Pub in Uptown and The Country House in Medicine Lake; to most recently Mankato’s Moose Lodge, American Legion Lorentz Post 11, and The Oleander Saloon. You could always count on Pretty Ricky for a great laugh and good time.

His knack for detail and love of being outdoors gave him the opportunity to turn his hobby into a business. Ricky ran a successful lawn business in the Mankato area for several years. No matter where he lived, he always had the best looking yard on the block!

When Ricky wasn’t keeping busy with work, he was exercising or training for one of the 12 marathons he ran in his lifetime, cheering on his Minnesota sports teams, or enjoying the summer nights on his patio. He was a lover of music and history and loved to test our knowledge. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, lounging with his pets and especially spending time with his family. Ricky’s kind spirit and warm heart will be greatly missed by many.

Ricky is survived by his two daughters, Alexa Kruger and Ashley Kruger. Father, Sidney Kruger; mother Martha (VanHal) Kruger; brother Randy Kruger (Lanette Carnahan Schnitker), Sisters Rhonda (Kruger) McGinley (John),  Roxanne (Kruger) Bergman (Scott); brother in law, Casey Ingenthron; nieces and nephews, Cody Ingenthron, Toni (Ingenthron) Becker, Greta Bergman, Jordan McGinley, and Meghan McGinley; and many loving friends.

He is preceded in death by baby Brother, Ronald Kruger; Sister, Rosa (Kruger) Ingenthron; grandparents, Chris and Gertie Van Hal, and Tony Kruger and Sadie Kruger Huls.
