Karla Worden

Karla Rae Worden, 75 of Saint Peter, passed away December 31, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Funeral will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2018 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary in North Mankato and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato.

Karla was born January 3, 1942 to Fred and Etta (Hellyer) Kleine near Ceylon, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Ceylon Evangelical Lutheran Church and graduated from Ceylon High School in 1960. Following graduation she worked for Winzenberg and Halloran Law Office in Jackson, Minnesota. On March 4, 1961 Karla married Raymond Worden. They resided in Welcome, Minnesota before moving to Mankato in 1961. Together, they raised two daughters, Lori and Michele.

Karla was employed by Melhorn, Mueller and Co. Insurance Adjusters, the Department of Natural Resources Game Warden division, Wilson Campus School, and Mankato State University. Karla was very proud of her 38 years of state service.

In her free time, Karla enjoyed reading, lunch and coffee dates, volunteering at church, classic car shows, and roll-ins. She especially enjoyed time with her loving family and participating in her grandchildrens’ lives and being their cheerleader.

Karla is survived by her husband, Ray of almost 57 years; daughters, Lori (Van) Mettler and Michele (Jon) Moldstad; grandchildren, Travis Klugherz, Erikka (Scott Zernechel) Klugherz, and Joshua (Christine Dobosenski) Mettler, and Andrew Rydeen; great-grandchildren, Jurni, Knox, and Hadley Rydeen; brother, Fred (Kathy ) Kleine; sister, Bonnie Dalen; and many nieces and nephews.
