Dorothy was born on October 29, 1928 in Mankato to John “Jack” and Marcella (Miller) Wenner. Dorothy graduated from Loyola High School in 1945 and went on to attend Mankato Commercial College. Following school, Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper for Mankato Brewing Co. where she met her husband, Edwin Voda. They were united in marriage on May 26, 1951 and they enjoyed 42 years together. They moved to Faribault for a short time and then moved back to Mankato, calling it home for the rest of their lives. Dorothy was always on the go, being active in her church, Community Bank prime timers, and with friends. She loved to socialize, whether visiting in person, by email, or most recently her smart phone. She enjoyed dancing, puzzles, playing cards, and the gameshow network. Dorothy was deeply devoted to her family and God. She believed in open Christianity and peace for all. Much of Dorothy’s life was spent caring for and giving to those in need. She will be deeply missed by all.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Charlie (Terese) Voda, Barbara (Mark) Boone, and Jim (Linda) Voda; grandchildren, Melissa Kes, Patty (Eric) Cornell, Jackie (Marshall) Bennett, Casey (Katie) Boone, Nick (Katie) Boone, Joey Boone, Katrina Voda, and Erik Voda; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
