Keith James Moore

Keith James Moore, age 65, died Thursday, December 21, 2017 peacefully at Laurels Peak in Mankato succumbing to the complications of multiple sclerosis.

Memorial service will be held at 1 pm Friday, December 29, 2017 at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary with visitation one hour prior. Private graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Memorials may be made to Loyola Catholic Schools or MS Society. Keith was born in Mankato to the late Charles and Elaine (St Peter) Moore. He graduated from Loyola High School in 1971. He received athletic letters in football and wrestling. In 1975, he graduated from the University of St Thomas in St Paul with football scholarship and was a two time MIAC conference champion wrestler. He went on to become a CPA, earning an accounting degree from Mankato State University.

Keith worked for Chicago and Northwest Railroad in the summer months to help pay for college. After college he worked for Unisys in Eagan then as an internal auditor at Hubbard Milling Company in Mankato. Remarkably he earned his MBA early in his MS diagnosis. In his younger years, he loved to travel. Keith was a talented wood craftsman. He was a strong skier, be it on snow or water. He enjoyed watching sports on TV always rooting for the Vikings and Twins. Keith thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors, going to lunch and visiting with friends, classmates and family.

Keith is survived by his siblings, Marcia Harris of Minneapolis, Tom (Donna) Moore of Mankato, Marilyn (John) Ruddy of Afton, Peggy (Tim) Sherman of Rochester, Catherine Pappas of Colorado, Daniel (Laura) Moore of Mankato, and Mary (Mike) Schwartzbauer of Mankato; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elaine (St Peter) Moore; and nephew, Tom Moore, Jr.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Laurels Peak for their care and kindness over the years.
